Role of the Job

This is a Project Manager Role within the operations team of Event Partners. The role of a Project Manager is hands-on and involves working as part of the Operations team. The successful person must be able to complete a wide range of activities requiring clear communication, excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. The Project Manager will manage large and repeat client accounts which have complex programs and significant budgets. They must work extremely well under pressure, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of every event from the initial handover to the final invoice. This candidate will manage approximately 15-20 events/projects a year as well as join several site inspections to assist with the procurement of future business. The successful candidate will be welcomed into a strong and experienced team and will report to the Operations Director, Jill Hughes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Daily Management of the following tasks:

  • Working on various events and projects as mentioned above
  • Corresponding and contracting with clients
  • Venue management, Catering, Audio Visual Equipment, Evening Function include staging, lighting, entertainment, d├ęcor, Excursions and Tours, Conference & Event Materials, Signage, Exhibition management, Hotel allocations, Marketing & Promotion
  • Engage in regular communication with clients to ensure that they are extremely well serviced
  • Corresponding and contracting with suppliers to include re-confirming dates, times and booking information
  • Budget management with scrupulous attention to detail, as specifically required for each project
  • Solution driven and proactive approach to managing clients and their needs
  • Assistance to the sales team with the organisation, co-ordination and implementation of site inspections and Fam Trips
  • Funding applications to Failte Ireland for Site Inspections and Fam Trips
  • Attending client meetings and preparation of meeting notes
  • Performing other administrative tasks and duties as may be required
  • Constantly develop new product and service knowledge
  • Updating company spreadsheets for Finance Team
  • Invoice processing for suppliers and clients
  • Work on-site during event (after hours and weekends included)
  • Availability to work outside standard business hours is essential as part of this role
  • International travel may also be required
  • On a daily basis reporting to the Operations Director

  • Sales & Site Inspection experience
  • Excellent financial ability
  • Self-motivated and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong team player and team leader
  • Experience in contracts and negotiating
  • Experience managing suppliers to optimal productivity and performance
  • Awareness of international cultures and their differences/expectations
  • Creative, with a hands on approach
  • Excellent communication skills and phone demeanor
  • Good relationship builder – both internally and externally
  • Professional attitude towards all stakeholders
  • Organized, detail oriented and punctual
  • Willing and able to travel when needed
  • Strong office computer skills including Word, Excel etc. Database management.
  • A third level qualification is required
  • Fluent English is essential, additional languages would be an advantage (most specifically German)
  • A passion for the tourism and events industry is critical

Role: Project Manager (Events)
Position level: Mid-level
Contract: Permanent role at end of contract
Position type: Full time including evenings and weekends where applicable
Travel required: Travel around Ireland will be required for all events as well as additional international travel from time to time. Applicants must have their own car and a full clean driver’s license with full time access to a car.
